I want to upgrade to Silver membership. Why will PayPal not work?
To upgrade your membership using PayPal you MUST have a bank account and home address in the same country - ie an English bank account and English home address or a Spanish bank account and Spanish home address. You cannot use an English bank account if your registered home address is in Spain.
If you don't already have a PayPal account, don't worry. PayPal will create the account for you whilst you are making your payment to us.
I can't/don't want to use PayPal. What are my alternatives?
You are only restricted to PayPal for the Silver membership upgrade. You can use the CCBill option to upgrade to Gold membership. REMEMBER with Gold membership you pay for two months and we give you a third month FREE!! You will save 14.95 euros by choosing the Gold membership option.
Alternatively, you can send a cash payment - use the "Feedback" button at the bottom of any page to contact us and we will give you the relevant information.
I can't send messages or do anything!
Free members can browse the hundreds of profiles, create a personal profile and upload a photo.
If you upgrade to "Gold" membership you can send and receive messages, upload multiple photos, use the instant messenger and Chat system. For the equivalent of just 2.50 euros per week it really is worthwhile!
If you change anything in your profile then the webmistress has to approve it. This is done at least twice a day. As soon as it is approved your account will be fully active again. This method is necessary to protect you from others who may attempt to post unsuitable material on DateMed. It also gives a human touch to what could be a cold site run purely by computer. At DateMed, we care.
Chat and Instant Messages
Click Chat in your menu. You will get a new blue screen showing all members who are currently available to chat. Click on a name of the person you wish to contact (their names are at the top right) and you will see a list of options. The first one is 'Private Message' which you need to click. This allows one to one chat in private with the person you choose..
How do I change my email address, password or profile?
You can change your email address etc on the 'Edit Profile' page. Here you can change some other information including search preferences, address and other preferences about your daily routines, habits, hobbies etc.
After you've made your changes, click 'Submit' at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
Please remember that we have to approve any changes so you may not have all menu items available to you until the time of approval but that's never very long as we check several times a day.
Do people actually meet on your site? Do they ever get married?
Thousands of people meet on dating sites daily and go on to date and start relationships. There have also been hundreds of marriages across many borders. My husband and I met on a similar site!
Remember, DateMed can also be used to increase your circle of friends. If you're lonely and simply want a friend to socialize with, don't hesitate to contact someone. Every member of DateMed has joined because they want to meet people.
When someone emails me, where does the email go and how do I respond?
When a member sends you a note, it goes straight into your onsite message Inbox. We then send an email to your personal email address to let you know that it's there.
To read the note, simply login to the site and go to your Inbox. If you decide to write back, simply click "reply", write your own note, fill in the verification code (a 2 digit code with no spaces) and send away. Your note will go straight into the member's onsite Inbox and we'll let them know it's there with an email to their personal email address.
All communications with other members stay onsite so that you never have to give out any personal information until you feel completely ready. Then when you are, you can exchange phone numbers and even meet in person.
How do I edit my profile? How do I hide my profile?
To update your profile, click "Edit Profile" in Members Panel menu. Be sure to save your changes at the bottom of the screen when you're done.
Try to put your best foot forward with at least one photo and a snappy, detailed description about your interests. The photo is key since most people feel more comfortable writing to members they can see. Try to stay positive in your profile and let the real you shine.
To hide your profile, select "No" for the option "Other members can see when I'm online?" on the "Edit Profile" page . Keep in mind, however, that members who are most active on the site keep their profile visible in all places because it increases their chances of connecting with people. And you never know, someone special may be looking for you and never get to find you if your profile is hidden.
Put the photo you wish to upload somewhere you can find it, eg your Desktop. Go to "Manage Profile Pictures" in the "My Profile" section found on the left of the page. Click "Browse", click the name of your photo, click "Open" then "Upload".
If you have any problems or your photo is too large, just attach to an email and send to me at admin@datemed.es and I will resize and upload it to your profile on your behalf.
Uploaded photos will be viewed by admin and should appear on your profile within 24 hours.
Please don't attempt to upload naked or semi naked photographs, they will be declined and deleted by admin.
When I suspend my membership, does it end my subscription? Can I put my subscription on hold?
Full membership to DateMed.es costs only 29.95 euros for three months, that's less than 2.50 euros per week!
Once you purchase a subscription, it will remain active until you wish to cancel it. You can do this yourself at any time or, if you prefer, simply write to me at admin@datemed.es and I will do it for you.
Don't worry! Email me at admin@datemed.es and tell me what your problem is. I will send you a personal reply with step-by-step guidance within 24 hours (usually much quicker).
